Thank you everyone!

This has been some exciting and stressful couple of weeks. It is really heartwarming to see all the support you have given us. Imagine that we reached 78 187 USD / 686 271 NOK and got funded 807%! Thank you all for making this dream a reality for us, now we will make sure to give you your sets as soon as possible. First we will celebrate the holidays with our friends and families, as we haven’t been able to find our way out of the office lately. As soon as we get the money from Kickstarter, which usually takes about two weeks, we will start the production and set the wheels in motion. We will make sure to keep you up to date with everything we are doing as we go, so you can follow our progress until you receive your very own Magination set.
Declined payments: A lot of credit cards have not been accepted - we're looking into it! Update coming soon.
As we have mentioned it will be possible to choose colors on your pieces as well as get additional add-ons. In order to manage this, we have chosen to use a BackerKit survey to collect this information. The surveys will be sent out in January, so you can take a full vacation as well.
We will give you a heads-up before we send the survey so that you can watch for it, as well as give more information on add-ons you can get. We would love to hear what add-ons you would like in the comment section below. Any idea is welcome! You will not need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey. The invitation email will contain a link to your personal survey. It is important to submit your responses as quickly as you can since we need this information to process your rewards.
If you prefer, you can just message us and give us your information, but answering your survey will help us get your rewards out to you quicker. BackerKit helps us save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing us with pledge management software to make it easy to process your pledge reward shipments.
If you used Facebook to log into your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey link will be sent to the email you used for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you'd prefer to use, please message us.
We are sure you guys will make the world a more attractive place, and hope you will keep sending us any suggestions or thoughts you have about Magination (or funny magnet jokes). If you know someone who wasn’t able to get a hold of a Magination kit, it’s possible to subscribe to our list on our website. That way they’ll get an update as soon as we are able to start selling Magination. Merry Christmas everyone, and thank you for making this the best Christmas we will ever have!
Let’s celebrate with one last gif!

We have entered the two final hours of Magination's campaign! This is the last chance for people to become Magination-backers and for you guys to adjust your pledge level.
Magination has attracted a lot of people, and even attracted some highly relevant Pokemon-cards to our office wall.
Let’s give this Kickstarter a remarkable ending together!

Add-ons and final 24 hours

It’s less than 24 hours left of this extremely positive ride, and it’s not over just yet! We’re only getting started! Yesterday we passed the incredible milestone of half a million NOK, while also passing 700 backers! That makes us a really big team of magnet enthusiasts, and we got the final hours to try to become more.
YES - We’re going to use BackerKit to collect your shipping-information, which has a lot of great features to make add-ons both possible and easy. This means that you DON’T have to add anything extra to your pledge before the campaign ends, and you’ll be able to add and pay extra pieces/modules/sets when we send out the survey. The exact details on the different add-ons will come next year, and we want to open a discussion with you about the most attractive add-ons that we should offer. Offering add-ons has been something we wanted to do from the start, and now we feel safe to do so. This additional customization of your set is a great feature, and we’re happy that you can make your Magination-set even more personal! A more detailed update will come after the campaign has ended, to let you know what happens next.
We have increased the suggested age for Magination to 14+, as it has been brought to us that this could be necessary in the future. It’s better to put it up now, rather than later. Let us know in the comments or message us if you have second thoughts about Magination because of the increased age. Short story: Some magnetic products have 14+ age, and to be on the safe side, we put the same age on Magination for now. We will write a more detailed update about this later when we have more time and information, but we just wanted to let you know before the campaign ended :)
Yesterday we passed half a million and 700 backers. Today we reached a new stretch goal, and judging by your comments, that one was a little vague. We can agree on that one too, as we tried to sum something big into a short sentence, and didn’t quite succeed. Originally, when we should start manufacturing of the Magination-pieces, we would get different PREDEFINED shades of a color and then we choose the shade we like the best. The amount of shades would vary from the four colors we have (red/yellow/green/blue), but usually between 3-5 shades for each color were our options. This stretch goal changed that, and we can now specify the colors we want for the pieces in much greater detail:
Example without stretch goal: “We want our green pieces to have shade #3” (out of 5 shades)
Example with stretch goal: “We want our green pieces to have color S 1080-G30Y” (Which is a ‘Natural Color System’ code)
Why wasn’t this included from the start? It’s very expensive to order custom colors, and we needed a minimum quantity too. Bottom line - your pieces will look so much better!
In the time of the recent events, we felt that this image is highly relevant, and something we want to share: A stormtrooper playing Magination at Norwegian Game Awards 2013! What do you think about the early prototype in the picture? The white blocks are the predecessors of the Double-pieces!

New pieces have arrived

It’s incredible what we can do with you guys on our side, and thanks to you, our manufacturer has increased the speed of creating new Magination-samples (which takes quite some time, by the way!). The pieces have to be carefully engineered to fit each other the way we have planned, and at the moment, they look gorgeous! Take a look yourself, this arrived in the mail:
Note that the pieces are not in the final colors, and this is just sample colors from the manufacturer. We will take a much closer look at the pieces once we get some time for that! Maybe a video?
In other news, this just happened:
This means that someone in the Kickstarter staff thinks Magination is awesome! We got really happy and updated the banner image with the new badge. Then we read Kickstarter’s mail more carefully:
“Be sure to keep your project page looking terrific - that means keeping your image free of banners and badges...”
We couldn’t decide on whether to keep the badge or remove it again, so we figured we let you decide! Magination will always be a "Staff Pick", but we might put the badge somewhere else on Magination's page rather than the top banner. Say what you think in the comments on this update.
Darren didn’t just create one video of the prototype set - here is a second one, beautifully showing magnetism in stunning slow motion.
We are close to the finish line for Magination’s campaign, and want to make sure we reach as many stretch goals before that happens. We will make sure to keep you up to date with everything that happens and continue to pump out updates for these last hectic days. Let’s finish this campaign with style together!
Sharing is positive caring :) Kickstarter has made it really easy, and you’ll find multiple share-buttons under the banner (scroll up), or you can simply jump over to our Facebook page and join us there as well. See you there!

Insane Slow Motion Video
– Mon, Dec 14, 2015 at 01:46:09 AM
Today we got something we’re overly excited about! Let’s jump back a month and a day, to November 11th:
We have just posted a couple of GIFs on Reddit, and the views are skyrocketing above any expectations. Suddenly we receive our first Reddit-message. It was from a guy named Darren Dyk, the cinematographer behind the YouTube channel BeyondSlowMotion. His camera records HD videos in 1500 frames per second, and he wondered if we would like to send him a set.
He didn’t have to ask twice! We shipped one of our prototypes in his direction the next day, which conveniently got stuck in US-customs for many days, and finally got delivered in December. You might think that the viral GIF was cool, but it is nothing compared to what you are about to see:
We are so stoked about this video! It has so many exquisite and attractive scenes that we can’t contain our excitement. The water, the slow motion, the colors, the movement, the quality - it’s just stunning, and it’s the first time we have been able to see this too! It’s great that we can share this with all of you, and it would be even greater if you could share it as well! Hitting ‘like’ on the YouTube video and subscribing to BeyondSlowMotion are also great ways to send a big THANK YOU for making this awesome video!
We've been aware of the issue that our Advent calendar might fall under Kickstarter's guidelines as a "competition". The goal was just to spread a little extra Christmas joy to all of you, but we have to wait to pick another backer until we eventually get a green light from Kickstarter. Therefore, we have a particularly Christmas-themed GIF for you today:
The Magination Team
PS: This update was supposed to be posted yesterday on our GIFs "one month anniversary", but there were some rendering issues with the video and it had to be delayed until now. Cheers!
